Papaya santula(ଅମୃତଭଣ୍ଡା ଶନ୍ତୁଲା)


  • Raw papaya - 1 medium(ଅମୃତ ଭଣ୍ଡା)
  • Turmeric powder - 1 pinch(ହଳଦୀ ଗୁଣ୍ଡ )
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)
  • Oil - 1 tbsp(ତେଲ)
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp(ଲଙ୍କା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp (ସୋରିଷ)
  • Garlic cloves(crushed) - 5-6(ରସୁଣ)
  • Dry red chillies, broken into halves - 1-2(ଶୁଖିଲା ଲଙ୍କା)


  • Peel the papaya and cut into thin pieces. Boil papeya in sufficient water(1 cup) along with turmeric and salt until the pieces are soft.
  • Heat the oil in a pan and add all mustard seeds, garlic,dry chilly, When the mustard seeds begin to pop and the shallots and garlic give out a nice flavour, add the cooked papaya. (If you want more spice ,then you can add chilly powder, I like more spicy).
  • Stir-fry for another 5-6 mins and remove from fire.
  • Server hot with chapati/paratha.
