Tomato garlic chutney(ଟମାଟର ରସୁଣ ଚଟୁଣି)


  • Onion -1(ପିଆଜ
  • Tomato – 2 (ଟମାଟର)
  • Grated Coconut – ½ cup(optional)(ନଡିଆ କୋରା)
  • Garlic - 10 cloves(ରସୁଣ
  • Red chillies  as taste(ଶୁଖିଲା ଲଙ୍କା)
  • Tamarind – little(ତେନ୍ତୁଳି)
  • Curry leaves – 10 leaves
  • Urad dal – 1 tsp(ବିରି ଡାଲି
  • Chana dal– 1 tsp(ଚଣା ଡାଲି
  • Salt as required(ଲୁଣ)
  • Oil as required(ତେଲ)
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp(ସୋରିଷ


  • Heat oil in a pan. Add urad dhal and channa dhal.
  • When the colour changes to golden brown, start adding red chillies, curry leaves, garlic, onion and tamarind one after another. Saute for few seconds.
  • After that add tomatoes and salt. Cook until tomatoes become soft.
  • Remove pan from the stove and allow it to cool. 
  • Take a mixer ,add tomato mixture along with grated coconut(optional),grind it into a fine paste.
  • Transfer the chutney into a serving bowl.
  • Take a kadai add one or 2 tsp of oil for seasoning the mustard. After it splutters, mix it with chutney.
  • serve with dosa or idli.
