Stuffed Parbal(ପୋଟଳ ମସଲା)


  • Parwal - 7(ପୋଟଳ)
  • Onion(medium) - 1(ପିଆଜ)
  • Dry chillies - 2(ଶୁଖିଲା ଲଙ୍କା)
  • Jeera - 1 1/2 tsp(ଜିରା)
  • Garlic - 10 cloves(ରସୁଣ
  • Oil - 1-2 tbsp(ତେଲ
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)


  • Peel and clean the parwal and boil it along with salt for 5 mins.
  • Keep a side and let it be cool,then squeeze the water from parwal.
  • make a slit in center lengthwise keeping joint from both end.

  • Grind the garlic,jeera.dry chillies and onion to fine paste.

  • Heat the oil in a pan and add masala and saute it for 5 mins.
  • Then add salt,turmeric powder,coriander powder and mix it well and cook it for 2-3 mins.
  • Now take one parwal,open it and stuff the filling nicely into repeat the same process with all remaining parwal.

  • Heat the oil in a pan and fry stuffed parwal in low medium flame .

  • Cook it till it cooks well and turns to light brown color.
  • Serve hot with rice and dal as a side dish.
