Potato Biriyani(ଆଳୁ ବିରିୟାନି)


  • Rice - 1 cup(ଚାଉଳ)
  • Whole garam masala(cloves,cardamom,cinnamon,bayleaf) - 1 from each(ଗରମ ମସଲା
  • Curd - 1 cup(ଦହି) 
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp(ଅଦା ରସୁଣ ବଟା)
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tbsp(ଜିରା)
  • Biriyani masala powder - 1 tbsp(ବିରିୟାନୀ ମସଲା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ
  • Green chillies(slit) - 2(ଲଙ୍କାମରିଚ)
  • Onion(slice) - 1(ପିଆଜ)
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp(ଘିଅ)
  • salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)

Potato 65:
  • Hard boil potato(medium)(cube) - 2(ସିଜା ଆଳୁ)
  • Corn flour - 1 tbsp
  • Green chillies - 2(ଲଙ୍କାମରିଚ)
  • Curry leaf(chopped)- 2 tbsp
  • Maida - 1 1/2 tbsp(ମୈଦା)
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp(ଲଙ୍କା ଗୁଣ୍ଡ)
  • Oil for frying(ତେଲ
  • Salt to taste(ଲୁଣ)


  • Heat ghee in a pan,add whole garam masala and saute it for a 10 sec.
  • Add jeera,when its color change add green chillies,onion and saute it for 2-3 mins,then add biriyani masala powder and saute well.
  • After that add curd,2 cup water and mix it and let it be boil,then add rice and salt and mix well.(you can add chopped coriander and mint leaves)Cover the lid and cook on medium flame till rice 80% cook.
  • Mean while in a boil,add together corn flour,maida,green chillies,chilli powder,curry leaves and salt and mix it well. 
  • Add 1/2 cup water and mix it properly to avoid the lumps.
  • Put cube size potato and mix well as potatos coated with the mixture.

  • Heat oil and fry the potatos till it became red color.
  • Now you can add potatos in to cooked rice and cook medium flame till rice cooked well(ir u put potatos,the crispyness of potato will go) or you can sever potatos while serving biriyani.
  • Serve hot with your choice raita.
